BookBlogWriMo: Today’s challenge is where I read. That’s an easy question, anywhere I can. I have even read sitting in the car waiting for my husband to get out of the train. My reading is in spurts. Sometimes I can’t even get through a paragraph due to my kids. But if they are playing nicely (this is rare) or napping or eating lunch then I can get in a few pages. Most of the time it’s when they go down for naps, but even that’s rare since I am an author and use that time to write.
The next place where I read the most is in bed at night. Usually it’s because I am too tired to write and my brain isn’t functioning any longer. Again, I get through a few pages and fall asleep.
I’ve heard about how people lock themselves away in their room and read a book from start to finish and I become jealous. That is impossible for me, no matter how short the book is, my life just doesn’t allow that sort of luxury. So, I get my reading hit where I can.
Where do you read, when you can?
NaNoWriMo: Yesterday I did over 3000 words of my new book. I am trying to finish my novella, but an idea came to me about the beginning of my new book and I had to write it down. Before I knew it I had the first chapter written.
I probably would have gotten much more written, but both my boys were sick. Due to my boys sickness no chance my husband could take them out and give me time to write. Even their naps were sporadic leaving me running up and down the stairs as they woke several times coughing.
I have a feeling Monday is just going to be tough as the boys are still a bit sick and I am home alone with them. Despite my less than ideal writing situation I really like how my new book is starting out. I was so excited I showed my husband and he liked it. That’s a good sign as he doesn’t care for the Romance genre. Hopefully the rest of the month the writing flows as easily.
Good luck, as always, to all the participants!
